The Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI) has received a multi-million dollar grant to provide fiber-optic connections in western Massachusetts. MBI plans to connect 126 libraries over the next three years.
MLS is teaming up with the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and CW/MARS to assist in the implementation of this important project. Join us for a presentation on what this means to your library and what role MLS, CW/MARS, MBLC, and MBI will take to assist libraries in this endeavor.
Proposed service areas are listed.
If your library is eligible, please plan to attend one of three info sessions. They will be held at:
Palmer Public Library, Wednesday October 27, 10 a.m
Lee Library Association, Wednesday, October 27, 1:30 pm
Levi Heywood Library, Gardner, Friday, October 29, 10 am
An additional session will take place at 11 am on October 21, immediately following the MLS Open House in Whatley. Register for the open house and info session here.
You can register for any session at the MLS website.
