The Massachusetts Library System is seeking nominations of people representing member libraries to serve on its Executive Board. Four board members will be elected to serve three-year terms, beginning in January 2013, upon approval by the Council of Members at its Nov. 5, 2012 meeting.

The Executive Board governs the business and affairs of the System. (The MLS bylaws are available at It typically meets twelve times a year. Most meetings are held in the MLS headquarters office in Marlborough, and a few are held in other locations, including the MLS office in Whately. While in-person attendance at meetings allows for the best communications, board members may attend some meetings remotely via conference call or GoToMeeting. Board members are also called upon to serve on standing and ad hoc committees.

We are seeking representatives of all library types – academic, school, special, and public – from all parts of the Commonwealth.
