The Massachusetts Library System has a number of committees and task forces comprised of member library and stakeholder staff.  These bodies perform the essential function of providing a voice of the membership in MLS decision-making.  The Executive Board and staff rely on these volunteers to provide ideas and to act as a sounding board in our discussions. These committees also provide guidance and direction in many MLS activities, e.g., planning for continuing education and eContent services.

We recently updated all of our rosters and we invite you to review the committee rosters and charges by visiting:  Thanks to these volunteers! We really appreciate your contributions.

Most committee members serve a two-year (renewable) term. And we strive to provide representation from all parts of the Commonwealth and from different types and sizes of library, so we may favor a new member to fill a gap. We plan to issue a call to fill anticipated vacancies next March/April.

I invite you to contact me or any committee liaison about the role or activities of MLS committees.

Thanks again to our volunteers.
