What’s New

Bye Bye Beta

Commonwealth eBook Collections is no longer in beta. The Steering Committee, MLS Executive Board and MBLC Commissioners all agreed to make it official. Commonwealth eBook Collections is now a core service for the commonwealth. Congratulations, eBook Pioneers!

Desk Curation in BiblioBoard

Desk Curation is a new feature in BiblioBoard that allows you to easily create quick mashups of BiblioBoard content for your users and to exercise complete control over the content on your library’s BiblioBoard home page.

More than 50 authors throughout Massachusetts have shared more than 150 eBooks already. (1) Each month, we’ll report new authors. (2) We’re also working on our new site for Indiebooks authors where we will post a full running list of authors by municipality. Stay tuned!

Our promotional materials are getting a face lift in honor of our recent “go live.” Stay tuned! We expect to open ordering to libraries near the end of November.

Action Alerts

Commonwealth eBook Collections Steering Committee is convening a Marketplace Action Task Force to develop our platform and to identify causes that need our support and action from our community. If you are interested, please email to learn how you can lend a hand. In this section of the newsletter, we’ll provide updates on our activities and action alerts when we need your help to make a difference!

Celebrate MA Libraries

In this edition, I’d like to call attention to Bolton Public Library who’s website has served as the inspiration for new promotional materials that are nearing completion. Thanks for being so awesome and for sharing your designs with us! Check out their eBooks page!
