Dear MLS Members,
Thank you for your continued work on behalf of your communities. I am hearing about so many wonderful and unique ways that you are continuing to serve your patrons!
I wanted to take a few moments and share some updates with you:
Statewide Delivery will continue its suspension through next week. MLS and Optima will assess the status of delivery next week and keep you informed. Thank you for your understanding and patience. Additionally, we want to let you know that the items that are currently in the warehouses have been stored in their bins and have not been handled since Delivery suspension early last week.
We are continuing to update our Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and Massachusetts Libraries Guide. We’ve added the following new tabs to the guide: MBLC/MLS Updates; What Your Library Can Do Remotely; Youth & School Services;and Stay Engaged, Have Fun, Relieve Stress.
Coming soon: We will feature some innovative ways that MLS member libraries are continuing to serve their communities during COVID-19. If your library would like to share, please check the Guide for details next week.
I know there has been a lot of discussion about the “essential services” that Governor Baker mentioned in his conference earlier this week. The state has put together this website that aims to clarify the services: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-essential-services
As always, MLS is here to support you and your libraries. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can assist.
Thanks and be well,
Sarah Sogigian
