As Library Resources Director, I lead the six-person Resource Sharing team, coordinating services and support for: Commonwealth eBook Collection; Interlibrary Loan; MassCat; and state-wide database support. I am also a part of the two-person IT department supporting staff and office IT needs. A “typical” day can be fixing a circulation setting in the Koha ILS for a MassCat member, pointing a MLS member library to the authenticated URLs for access to Gale databases, working with ILL staff on a policy clarification, signing off invoices for the CEC program, and helping a co-worker suss out an issue with their Outlook email. Rarely a day goes by where I’m not involved in all five services my staff cover.
