In this months News and Updates:
We’re seeking volunteers from member libraries to serve on our 15-member Executive Board.
To effectively represent our membership, our Board needs to be as diverse as our libraries. We seek and welcome application for membership from varied backgrounds, with a wide range of experiences, working in all sizes and types of libraries (academic, special, school, and public), from all geographic regions of the Commonwealth, and performing all kinds of library work.
We currently have two open positions on the Board, starting a 3-year term in January 2023. We also hope to build a roster of interested individuals that we can draw upon should a position become open during the year, and we welcome past applicants to apply again.
If you’re interested in joining us, please submit a Statement of Interest by the end of the day on Friday, July 8, 2022. The MLS Nominating Committee will review all submissions and recommend a slate of candidates to the Board. Nominees will be contacted in September after the Board approves the roster and new Board members are then elected by our membership at our annual meeting in November.

On June 8th MLS and Optima held a Delivery Open House at our sorting facility in Worcester, Mass. Staff from member libraries experienced the delivery process firsthand. Attendees saw how Optima handles incoming/outgoing materials and how sort to light works. Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to hosting more open houses in the future.
